Features and Impact of the New Primark Store in Marbella
The upcoming Primark store in Marbella boasts over 4,000 square meters of retail space spread across two floors, and is expected to generate 100 new jobs in the region. The store will also implement comprehensive safety protocols to safeguard both employees and customers amidst the ongoing pandemic, as per the company’s statement.
What to Expect from the New Primark Store
Shoppers in Marbella can look forward to Primark’s signature fashion offerings, featuring the latest summer trends. The store will also stock Primark product lines made from sustainable, recycled, and organic materials, along with new licensed product ranges and everyday essentials, all at affordable prices.
Primark’s Expansion Plans for 2021
The Marbella store is just one of many planned Primark openings for 2021. The company also plans to open a new store in Vigo, located in the Vialia shopping centre, which will be the largest Primark in Galicia. Additionally, by the end of 2021, Primark will establish a presence in the Bahía Sur shopping centre in San Fernando (Cádiz) with a 3,000 square meter shop, and another 3,900 square meter store in the Garbera shopping centre in San Sebastián. Despite Spain being one of its most mature markets, it will lead Primark’s store expansion this year.
Primark’s Future Expansion Plans
In 2022, Primark plans to open its second flagship store in Madrid, located on Calle Conde de Peñalver, and will also make its debut in Girona, with a 3,700 square meter shop spread over two floors in the Espai Gironès shopping centre. These new openings will increase Primark’s total points of sale in the Spanish market to 57 by 2022.
Primark’s Growth in Spain Amidst the Pandemic
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Primark continued to expand in Spain, opening stores in Seville, León, and Barcelona, where it launched its first flagship store in Plaza Cataluña.
Primark’s Position in the Spanish Retail Market
Primark holds the position of the third largest retailer in Spain in terms of customer numbers, with 7.7 million shoppers recorded between January and October 2020, according to the most recent data from Kantar. It is surpassed only by El Corte Inglés and Decathlon, and is followed by other retail giants such as Carrefour, Zara, and H&M.
