Opening of Fairmont’s La Hacienda Costa del Sol Resort
Fairmont’s La Hacienda Costa del Sol resort is set to open its doors to the public by the end of February. The resort, directed by Juan Losada, represents an investment of approximately €130 million.
Location and Features of the Resort
The resort, which is the only Fairmont property in Spain, is located in the town of San Roque in Cádiz. It is a few kilometres away from Sotogrande and offers stunning sea views and access to La Alcaidesa beach. The resort is conveniently located about 30 minutes from Marbella and 20 minutes from Gibraltar Airport.
Luxury Redefined at Fairmont’s La Hacienda Costa del Sol
The resort aims to redefine luxury in the region with its 213 rooms, suites and 47 private villas. The design of the resort is inspired by Andalusia’s traditional whitewashed villages. The villas feature private pools, spacious terraces and offer privacy, setting a new benchmark for exclusive accommodation.

The resort is set to become a must-visit destination for fine dining enthusiasts, boasting five distinctive restaurants. The resort’s flagship restaurant will be helmed by two-Michelin-starred chef Benito Gómez. The resort will also offer more informal dining options, including a poolside bistro and a beach club. By night, the beach club will transform into a vibrant venue with live DJs and a menu featuring traditional dishes like espetos, reimagined with a modern twist.

One of the resort’s standout features is a 1,800m² spa, which offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean and the Andalusian mountains. It will provide holistic treatments, hydrotherapy, a hammam and a gym, all centred on promoting holistic well-being. The resort also boasts access to two renowned golf courses, including the prestigious La Hacienda Links Golf. Additionally, it features versatile indoor and outdoor spaces, ideal for hosting weddings and corporate events.

Expansion of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts
The new resort shall be added to the portfolio of over 88 hotels owned by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, which is part of Accor, one of the world’s leading hotel groups with more than 5,400 properties across 110 countries. Accor and its prestigious luxury brand manage the project, which has been developed over several years by Odyssey Hotel Group and Millennium Hospitality Real Estate. The latter acquired La Alcaidesa in December 2019. The resort is situated on the former Alcaidesa Links, now renamed La Hacienda, which has expanded its facilities to create an exclusive luxury destination, featuring a range of establishments, residences and services.
