Spain’s Most Exclusive Street for Home Buying
The most prestigious address in Spain for purchasing a home is the Urbanización Coto Zagaleta in Benahavís, Malaga. This entire urbanisation is the most expensive residential area in Spain. The average asking price for one of their luxury villas is a staggering 6,758,961 euros, according to a study by idealista, Spain’s leading property marketplace.
Runner-Up: Avenida del Tibidabo in Barcelona
Coming in second place in this exclusive ranking is Avenida del Tibidabo in Barcelona. The average price per home here is 5,858,750 euros. This price is slightly higher than the third-ranked Paseo de la Marquesa Viuda de Aldama, in La Moraleja de Madrid, which has an average home price of 5,700,000 euros.
La Moraleja’s Millionaire Streets
La Moraleja, an exclusive urbanisation in Madrid, boasts two more streets with average home prices above 5 million euros: Camino del Sur (5,485,192 euros) and Camino Ancho (5,146,875 euros). Following these is Avenida Pedralbes in Barcelona, with an average home price of 4,884,286 euros.
Marbella’s Composer Streets and Other High-End Addresses
Marbella has two streets named after famous composers that rank sixth and seventh in this list. The average house price in Calle Mozart is 4,754,944 euros, while in Calle Rossini it is 4,715,026 euros. The list concludes with Avenida Rocaferrera in the Barcelona municipality of Sant Andreu de Llavaneres (4,700,000 euros) and Avenida Portals Vells de Calviá on the island of Mallorca (4,690,009 euros).
Most Expensive Streets in Each Spanish Autonomous Community
The study by idealista also reveals the most expensive streets in each of the 17 Spanish autonomous communities. Besides the communities with streets in the top 10, four more have addresses with an average price exceeding one million euros: Valencia (2,377,667 euros), the Basque country (2,012,545 euros), the Canary Islands (1,208,545 euros), and Cantabria (1,119,127 euros). The least expensive is Extremadura, where the priciest street has an average price of 345,345 euros, followed by La Rioja (421,716 euros) and Castilla-La Mancha (428,067 euros).
Methodology of the Study
The study by idealista considered the total average price of all types of properties (flats, studios, penthouses, chalets…) listed on the same street. To avoid data distortions, only streets with a minimum of 10 listings were considered. Therefore, the study only reflects the average street prices, not necessarily the most expensive homes for sale in each market.
