Spain’s Most Exclusive Street for Home Buying in 2020
In 2020, the most sought-after street in Spain for purchasing a home was named after a renowned composer. Mozart Street, located in Marbella, topped the list with homeowners demanding an average of 8,416,461 euros for their luxury properties. This data was revealed in a study conducted by idealista, Spain’s leading real estate marketplace.
Runner-up: Coto Zagaleta Urbanisation
The second most exclusive area in Spain is an entire urbanisation situated in the town of Benahavís, Malaga. The Coto Zagaleta Urbanisation, which held the top spot in 2019, has an average property price of 6,741,037 euros. This price is slightly higher than the Paseo de la Marquesa Viuda de Aldama, in La Moraleja, Madrid, which ranks third with an average price of 6,303,281 euros.
Other High-End Streets in Spain
Following these top three are Calle 7 in Marbella, with an average price of 5,967,000 euros, and two streets in Mallorca: Calle Tàpies in Andratx and Calle Cosconar in Palma, priced at 5,883,461 euros and 5,589,500 euros respectively. The Paseo de los Lagos in Pozuelo, Madrid, also exceeds 5 million euros, with an average price of 5,370,967 euros.
More Luxury Streets and Their Average Prices
The eighth position in this ranking is held by Camino del Sur in La Moraleja, where luxury villas are on offer for an average of 4,815,909 euros. The second last address is Avenida Portals Vells in Calvià, Mallorca, with an average price of 4,803,846 euros. The list concludes with another composer-named street, Rossini Street in Marbella, where homes are priced at an average of 4,616,958 euros.
Most Expensive Areas in Each Spanish Autonomous Community
The study by idealista also includes the most exclusive streets in each of the 17 Spanish autonomous communities. Besides the communities with streets in the top 10, seven other autonomous communities have addresses with an average price over a million euros. These include Catalonia, Valencia, the Canary Islands, the Basque Country, Castile-La Mancha, Cantabria, and Navarre.
The Least Expensive Region in Spain
The region with the lowest average price is Extremadura, where the most expensive street has an average price of 383,100 euros. This is followed by La Rioja and Castilla y León, with average prices of 515,416 euros and 571,750 euros respectively.
Methodology of the Study
For this study, idealista analysed the average absolute price of all types of properties listed on the same street. To avoid data distortions, only streets with a minimum of 10 listings were considered. Therefore, the study only presents average street prices, not necessarily the most expensive homes for sale in each market.
